JasmineWS - Helping you build your first website

Have you wanted to learn how to make a website?

Wanted to start using GitHub but you were a little overwhelmed?

We have built a guide that walks you through building a website that is also an introduction to working with GitHub, including two HTML & CSS templates which are released under a MIT license. Oh its also free and you can follow along with just your browser and a free GitHub account.

What are we planning to get up to in { }

Product & Services

  • We have released a number of updates to the JasmineWS FAQ covering working with code, images and branches. Plus within the JasmineWS Docs we have released a guide to Domain names along with options for when purchasing one.
  • We are starting to release a number of new packages and options for websites soon. Take a look at myws.uk for an outline of the options and details soon to be available.
  • We have started to release more information about our new product ImgFunction that makes managing Images, Image Storage and CDN straight forward.
  • We have released a site that over time will explain StaticPage websites it will outline how to build one and the options and choices available across the Cloud vendors.
  • Small changes to a website can make a huge difference in how users see your site, but how do you find and test these changes? We have started to outline how you can benchmark your website to find areas of your website to improve. We plan to release more useful steps on builta.website soon.

  • We are looking to provide better cross site links to topics across our co.uk & .com content and the other JasmineDesign sites

We also regularly update our What's New page on JasmineDesign.com which covers more in depth development topics that we are working on across JasmineDesign's brands.

What have we been up to in the last few months.

  • We have added SQL Server 2022 support to our MinsterCMS which will allow us to support SQL Server on Linux.
  • We have been looking at the real values that ASP.NET Core brings to a true cross platform.
  • We have used the Monaco Editor to update and replace some of our back end tooling.
  • We have refreshed our core website starter project files, server setup and deployment configs.
  • - We have rolled out a number of updates across the site.
  • - We have released a new version of our services page with service type grouping.
  • - We have rolled out a number of updates across the site.
  • - We have released a new look and feel to the site.
  • We have released a refresh to some of the content and framework on JasmineDesign.co.uk to provide more coverage for our website services that are tailored for UK based businesses.
  • We are currently updating one of our dashboards and porting it over to be a React application.
  • Loads of testing on ASP.NET Core V1.1 with Visual Studio 2017 www.asp.net/core & get.asp.net.
  • We have been testing with the new release of PHP 7.1.* php.net for the front end section of our booking system.
  • We have found ourselves working with TypeScript & Angular much more and using Visual Studio Code has been a great editor.
  • The new tooling for our static sites is starting to take real shape, currently based around Gulp and a template engine. We will release more details soon.

- Saw the launch of .NET Core 1.0 which is Open-sourced & Cross-platform, with a great domain as well dot.net

Also released was ASP.NET Core 1.0 which is a new open-sourced & Cross-platform framework (Cross-platform: Runs on Windows, macOS and Linux).

ASP.NET Core 1.0 can run on .NET Core or on the full .NET Framework.

This release also sees a new version of ASP.NET Core MVC in ASP.NET Core which includes support for building web pages and HTTP services in a single aligned framework that can be hosted in IIS or self-hosted in your own process.

The doc's for this release are great, very full coverage and open source.

One of the best bits for us of this whole release is if you include Visual Studio Code you have a true cross platform solution. – .NET Core and Visual Studio Code
